Job Description
Histotechnician HT; two needed by major Missouri Medical Center in the region of Kansas City. The Histotechnician works under the supervision of the Team Leader, to process tissue specimens for examination by pathologists, maintain the areas used for tissue examinations, perform special stains, maintain an accurate log of the specimens, maintain files of blocks of tissue slides, monitor the supplies and reagents as necessary and rotates autopsy call. Must be a High School graduate with 2 years full-time experience in a Histopathology Laboratory under the supervision of a certified pathologist; or have an Associate degree plus 1 year experience as above; or have a Bachelors degree with completion of Histology Technician or Histotechnology program. Experience is preferred. Training orientation will be 6 to 8 weeks. HT ASCP licensure is preferred. The salary range is $32,500 to $47,000 plus benefits and relocation if needed.
