Job Description
EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN DESERVE EXCEPTIONAL THERAPISTS.... Great location on the southern edge of the DC Metro area about 30 miles southeast of Washington D.C. Easy commute from DC or pick a small town near by. Youll enjoy working with a wide range of kids here from pre-school through high school. Youll see kids with autism spectrum disorders LD MR CP etc. Inclusion is desired but some pull out is used as well. The majority of the caseloads are students with language and/or articulation impairments. This public school system needs coverage at 3 to 5 schools located a short distance apart. Besides treatments youll do some evals and standardized testing for new kids needing IEPs. This is a contract position for the 2007-2008 school year. The average caseload is approximately 32 thirty minute sessions/week. Most often therapists are assigned to one school. If traveling to more than one school the caseloads are smaller. Each therapist has a private treatment room with a computer and a phone. Testing and therapy materials are provided. Lots of support for newer or CFY therapists. Qualifications: Must hold a Masters Degree in either Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders; a current state license (or eligible). CFY is available and new graduates are encouraged to apply. Pediatric therapy is ALL we do - and our expertise is backed by excellent hourly rates and per diem offered based upon IRS eligibility.
