EXCEPTIONAL CHILDREN DESERVE EXCEPTIONAL THERAPISTS.... Our Client is a school based special ed system located in the Chicago area. They seek two full or part time SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS to join their team on a contractual basis. The first position is in Darien IL in a primary and jr. high setting. These children suffer from cognitive delays and some are severe/profound in nature. The position can be as many as 4 days per week in 2 classrooms. A smaller caseload is also available. The second position is in Brookville and treats kids on the autism spectrum. They are 2nd-5th graders and there are 12 children in the caseload. Again these children have multiple needs and some are severe/profound in nature. In either case the caseloads are manageable and there is a strong team of special ed. teachers who are there to lend support. The treatment is split between direct one on one time and classroom integration. Client prefers a candidate with their Cs but a strong CFY will be considered. Contract rates start at $37/hour and go to mid-$40s based on experience. The option of extension into next year and/or direct hire is also a likelihood. Qualifications: Must hold a Masters Degree in either Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders; a current state license (or eligible) if applicable.
