POSITION PROFILE #JOS000000906: *** JOB TITLE: OT / Occupational Therapist / INPATIENT ORTHOPEDIC / TRAVELER *** JOB TYPE: Temporary/PRN/Traveler Full-time. *** SHIFT/HOURS/CALL/ROTATION: Days only Monday thru Friday 8-4:30. NO WEEK ENDS or CALL. *** PAY SCALE: $25.00-$35.00 per hour. Reimbursements may include housing auto daily meals/PRN. *** CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATIONS/LICENSE/EDUCATION REQUIRED: BS/OT. NY license. 2 years minimum experience. *** APPROXIMATE STARTING DATE: 1/2/08 (ASAP) *** ENDING DATE: March 31 2008 *** DESCRIPTION of FACILITY/PRACTICE & LOCATION: Physical Medicine & Rehab dept within a hospital setting with primarily inpatient orthopedic patients. Commutable distance from airport 4-5 hours of NYC. City population is 170k county is 470k. Traveler can opt for rural or suburban living areas. Many activities for every season to occupy time on the weekends! *** BEST TIME TO INTERVIEW: Anytime by appointment. *** JOB DESCRIPTION: Acute Care setting : general medicine ICU and inpatient rehab orthopedics trauma stroke brain injury. * Supervisory responsibilities as delegated by Admin. * Plan organize and conduct occupational therapy programs to facilitate development and rehabilitation of mentally physically and/or emotionally disabled individuals by performing the following responsibilities: * Evaluate the patients needs teach the individual to understand and compensate for his/her disability through planned activities and therapy. * Plan customized treatment programs to improve ones ability to perform daily activities. * Coordinate participation in sensorimotor educational recreational and social activities designed to help individuals develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities. * Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team which may include physicians physical therapists psychologists nurses speech & language pathologists teachers and others to select activity programs consistent with needs and capabilities of the individual and to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities. * Conduct training programs or participate in training of families and other workers in occupational therapy techniques and objectives. * Use computer programs or computer-aided devices to help clients improve decision-making abstract-reasoning problem-solving memory sequencing coordination and perceptual skills. * Provide patients with equipment such as wheelchairs & aids for dressing & eating. *** HEALTH INSURANCE: Single & Family coverage available.
