Job Description
The level II per diem Occupational Therapist is assigned advanced operational duties as clinical specialists, implementing established OT standards. The staff member will provide quality patient care through assessment, intervention, program planning, implementation, documentation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient education. This position requires the ability to mentor other staff, supervise students, and provide clinical leadership and expertise to the department. Specialty skills in specific practice areas will be considered when mentoring staff or students. The staff member is expected to be active in pursuing professional growth and development and in contriubuting to the continuous improvement of the Rehab Services Department. If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0 to 21, CCS paneling/approval will be required within one year of hire if qualify for CCS paneling requirement. Attends discharge planning meeting for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline. Assures that the non CCS paneled therapists will be supervised by a CCS paneled therapist for the care provided to children aged 0-21. Participates in care coordination activities when children are being discharge with therapy and coordinates the transfer of care to the CCS Medical Therapy Units in the school system as appropriate.

Job Requirements
-Eligibility for registration by the National Registry of the AOTA
-Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy approved by the AMA and the AOTA
-Current BLS certification
-A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occ Therapist, with the ability to evaluate and treat 3 or more types of patient conditions (i.e. CVA, SCI, TBT, Peds, neonatal, burns, hand injury, etc.)
-Licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist
