Job Description
The Speech Pathologist provides evaluation and therapeutic management of adults and children with a wide variety of communication disorders, focusing on assessment, developing treatment plans and treatment of speech, language, swallowing and hearing disorders to overcome disabilities from a variety of causes. Types of disorders treated include but not limited to : aphasia, apraxia, dysarthia, speech/language delay, voice disorders, laryngectomy, speech/language impairment secondary to head trauma and craniofacial anomaly, dysphagia, impaired cognition, and dysfluency. Serves as a participant in the dysphagia team. Works in collaboration with members of the Health Care team and all members of Rehabilitation team including assisting with administrative, teaching and/or research functions of the department. Participates in team conferences and case conferences as assigned. Participates in special projects and Performance Improvement programs as assigned. If assigned to work with infants and children aged 0 to 21, CCS paneling/approval will be required within one year of hire if qualify for CCS paneling requirement. Attends discharge planning meeting for children with discharge needs applicable to the discipline. Assures that the non CCS paneled therapists will be supervised by a CCS paneled therapist for the care provided to children aged 0-21. Participates in care coordination activities when children are being discharge with therapy and coordinates the transfer of care to the CCS Medical Therapy Units in the school system as appropriate.

-Demonstrated experience providing speech therapy to a diverse group of patients
-CA Speech Pathology license -Current BLS certification
-Successful completion of the credentialing process by the medical staff office
