2007 – 2008 UCLA Medical Center
Principal Electronics Technician

Responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of medical equipment to include lasers, and equipment used in the operating rooms, anesthesia equipment and equipment utilized in multiple intensive care units. Kept accurate files on equipment not maintained by the operating rooms or anesthesia and coordinated with vendors for maintenance and repair. Worked with other hospital departments to solve difficult equipment problems. Attended trouble calls and troubleshot problems as they occurred in assigned areas.

2001 – 2005 Georgetown University Hospital
Biomedical Engineering Specialist

Responsible for maintaining and repairing anesthesia and operating room equipment. Assisted with a complete hospital wide equipment inventory. Participated in the development of a new maintenance program and schedules for all inventoried hospital equipment. Worked with operating room and anesthesiology staff to develop a system for continual equipment maintenance in order to insure an uninterrupted daily operating room schedule. Coordinated with vendors to create a more cost-effective system for outside repairs.

1995 – 2000 UCLA Medical Center
Senior/Principal Electronics Technician

Responsible for maintaining and repairing anesthesia and operating room equipment. Acted as liaison between Operating Room Services and JCAHO. Kept accurate files on equipment not maintained by the operating rooms or anesthesia and coordinated with vendors for maintenance and repair. Worked with other hospital departments to solve difficult equipment problems. Attended trouble calls and troubleshot problems as they occurred in the operating room. Developed a relationship with campus sports medicine department and devised a maintenance system for the athletic departmentís medical equipment.

1993 – 1995 UCLA Medical Center
Anesthesia Technician

Responsible for maintaining and repairing anesthesia machines and related equipment within the department. Maintained all repair, maintenance, inventory files, service and operator manuals for the department machines. Attended and successfully completed courses for Ohmeda and North American Drager anesthesia machines. Created safety kits for UCLA departments, which had been previously developed at Cedars-Sinai.

1990 – 1993 Cedars Sinai Medical Center
Anesthesia Equipment Technician

Performed the duties of safety officer for the anesthesia department. Such duties included membership on the hospitalís safety board. As a member of the hospitalís safety board, developed emergency earthquake kits enabling departments to remain self-sufficient in the event of such an emergency. Acted as a liaison between the Anesthesia and Clinical Engineering departments. Arranged new product development with vendors. Ordered, stocked and maintained both anesthesia and disposable supplies. Performed minor repairs on anesthesia equipment including, but not limited to, infusion pumps, anesthesia machines and nerve stimulators.
