Douglas Nursing Home/Cornerstone Health Care Ownership Administrator |

Census building which was a issue with this building. Staff retention was also a issue in this building in Nursing Department. I was able to build census from 57 to capacity to 72 with a strong PPS census from 2 to 16 avg. for the year. Staff retention was better on my departure as a strong Director of Nursing was secured which had been the issue in the past. I was able to secure this position and stabilzed it for over 1 year and the entire Nursing Dept.

Northbrooke Health Care Center/Jackson,Tn. Administrator |
|
I was transferred from McKenzie Health Care Center which I opened from the ground up as a brand new facility and was offered by the Director of Operations to open Northbrooke for the same parent multi-facility Company. Both buildings were opened brand new under my Administration. I was the Administrator @ Northbrooke which was a state of the art 120 bed dual certified Facility which specialized in Rehab Therapy. My strong points in this building were opening it new, building the census in a highly competetive area that had overutilization of Rehab beds. I was successful within one year to maximize the PPS census to a average of 22 and hold that average often netting over 250,000.00 per month in ParT A PPS income as well as average 95% overall census with a large amount of Private Pay clients as well.

McKenzie Health Care Center Administrator |
|
I was very priviledged to have opened this facility from the ground up. It was a brand new facility, 99 bed ICF Nursing Facility upon opening in 1995. Building capacity was 99 beds with special dementia wandering unit which was 22 beds of those 99 beds. The faciity was very successful and census capacity was reached within the first 6 months of Licensure. Private Pay census was strong in this area. Overutilization of beds was a issue in the area but this was a new facility and was a strong point to the census building. A net profit was reached within the first year. The staff retention in this area was not a issue for this facility as it was a very rural area. I was approached by the same company to open another site for them that would be dual certified and I desired to grow and learn more about Medicare and did accept the position they offered me @ Northbrooke in Jackson,Tennessee as the facility in McKenzie had become very stable and profitable in a short time. |
