Over the course of my internship in the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases (NIH), I have learneda broad range of methods and techniques in the characterization of proteins, nucleic acids, and microorganisms, culturing of bacterial and mammalian cells, purification of macromolecules and viruses, cloning of recombinant plasmids, synthesis of transcripts and amplification of viruses. I have participated in projects studying virus-cell interactions, properties of novel proteins and genes, and virulence of RNA viruses. I acquired experience as a technician, researcher, technical writer and speaker.
