Managing patient care from newborn to age 21. Both well child and acute care in a primary care setting. Worked in an independent and collaborative setting with four to six Pediatricians and one additional Nurse Practitioner. Managed newborn discharges and early care including lactation assistance. Well child visits included both anticipatory guidance and health supervision. Illness care covered the full range of pediatric issues from minor illness to those requiring referral or hospitalization care.

Identification and management of students health care needs with specialization in the student with special health care needs in the educational environment. Active participation in play based assessment for those children coming from the Birth to Three programs who were being considered for early childhood programming, ECH, in the public schools. This was accomplished in a multidisciplinary team approach which included a Developmental Pediatrician, Educators, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational and Physical Therapists and myself. I have served on at least 200 Individualized education plan, IEP, meetings and IEP development. All had a special health care need of some type from Autism to physical care needs, behavioral care and employment/life planning needs. The ages ranged from pre 3 year old ECH programming to 21 for those students who qualified for the extended education timeline.

Consultant to 42 northeastern WIsconsin school Districts as special health care needs students were integrated into regular classrooms. Participation in the evaluation, planning and implementation of individualized care and educational plans. This was done half time during a sabbatical from the Appleton Area School District during my final preceptorship year of the Masters Degree program.

Small town hospital with a wide variety of patients at any given time. There was cardiac telemetry, emergency, obstetrics and newborn, pediatrics, pre and post surgical, adult illnesses as well as an emergency room and nursing home that was attached to the hospital, all of which the RN on duty was responsible for covering together with LPN and MA's.

Variety of responsibilities related to patient care in the tertiary center hospital environment. Including care for pre-op, post-op, and illnesses. Being a tertiary care setting we also received patients from a wide area including intensive care pediatrics.

Master of Science Nursing MSN with a Pediatric Nurse Practioner PNP focus. Very challenging but very enjoyable. I completed the first two years while working full time and raising a family. The last year I was able to take a sabbatical so that I could complete my preceptorship. During that time I also took a half time consultant position.

Registerd Nurses education with a Bachelors Degree in Science Nursing, BSN. I completed the required six semesters of nursing courses in two calendar years by attending through both summers, also while raising a family.
