Director, Medical Operations and Training
Keesler Air Force Base, MS/Rhein Main Air Base, Germany

Led training operations, and regulatory compliance for the second largest medical center in the United States Air Force. Orchestrated life support and EMT programs for 1,900 staff members and five physician residency programs in a large medical group servicing 54,000 beneficiaries. Managed a $5M+ budget. Advised the senior executive teams on medical training issues to ensure the maintenance of a ready force. Medical coordinator of a base closure team maintaining medical care despite a drawdown in resources Designed and taught 144 CPR classes, 36 EMT refresher courses, 3 EMT basic lessons, 8 advanced life support classes, and 4 pediatric advanced life support courses annually. Acted as consultant, conducted more than 20 critical incident stress management sessions and debriefings on post line of duty incidents/death. Developed and implemented the USAF’s first public access defibrillation course, program was benchmarked and deployed Air Force wide. Deployed and worked in an Air Transportable Hospital in Oman and Africa. Consulted and led closure of a medical unit overseas – Germany.
- Provided 200+ hours of soft-skills training to base populace and exceeded the compliance rate by 10%.
- Coordinated a transfer of 37 aircraft and all onboard personnel as well as 32,000 lbs of equipment without delays in mission deadlines and patient care. Wrote 36 award packages for supporting staff to earn USAF medals.
- Overhauled 45 training records and authored 2 databases resulting in an “outstanding” rating during inspection.
- Successfully closed historical base and ensured timely transfer of millions of dollars in equipment and personnel.
- Achieved ranking as the #1 Military Treatment Facility in the entire USAF in patient access, military readiness processing, and patient coding statistics by assessing operations and instituting a training program overhaul.
- Led efforts to modernize classrooms and auditoriums, purchasing smart boards and utilizing computer-based training to enhance student-instructor interaction. Applied and was awarded $400K grant for implementation.
- Taught 15 medical emergency courses to physicians, nurses and medical assistants in Mali, Africa, and Oman.
- Achieved a mean medical training compliance rate of 96% versus the 90% military average.
