and Trademark Office defending the novelty and patentability of inventions
generally relating to the fields of biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry,
e.g.: novel methods of treatment, novel compound screening methods, and
diagnostic tools and kits.

• Prepared provisional patent applications relating to, e.g.: novel pharmaceuticals,
newly discovered therapeutic methods using known compounds, and therapeutic
devices.

• Conducted prior art searches to determine the novelty of inventions generally relating to
the fields of biotechnology and the pharmaceutical industry.
• Conducted due diligence searches for legal opinions regarding the validity of competing
patents as well as for legal opinions regarding a client’s freedom to operate.
• Prepared memoranda that both analyzed and applied legal doctrine to complex statistical
and diagnostic data in areas such as: plant genetics, mammalian and bacterial cellular
signal transduction, antibody structure and function, and therapeutic devices.
