Provide Supported Living Services (SLS) to adults with Developmental Disabilities throughout Colorado Springs. Organize and execute activities centered around the individual’s interests. Integrate the activities with opportunities for socialization with others in the community. Have gone beyond the job description and helped clients develop several circles of friends and include these friends in weekly activities. Mentorship regarding a wide range of needs including counseling with various psychological disorders, the use of crisis intervention,and various forms of therapy. Have helped each client make excellent progress regarding verbal and non verbal communication, participation in activities, and increased quality of life. Help some individuals with reading and mathematics, budgeting, nutrition, and personal care.

Provided support to adults with Developmental Disabilities throughout the entire employment process. Developed marketing information and tools to help educate potential employers and arrange for interviews and placements. Assisted clients with the interview process before and during an interview. Detailed initial coaching as well as follow along after stabilization. Provided counseling for clients individually and with their employers or co-workers. Communicated with all needed parties including various doctors and therapists to assist the client’s mental health and help maintain their employment. Attended sessions with psychiatrists and therapists to assist clients with their needs. Provided education to the client and the business on all aspects of employment including the job tasks, communication with all parties, company trainings, forms of harassment, mental and physical challenges and any other needed information.

Presented educational seminars to various schools, businesses and organizations regarding topics surrounding the diagnosis, treatment and social issues surrounding epilepsy. Provided counseling to individuals, family members, and others affected by the condition. Designer, Editor and Staff Writer of the company newsletter. Provided Attendant Care, Respite Care and Psychosocial Groups to children ages four to seventeen. Psychological evaluations used in conjunction with social activities to assist the children with various mental disorders. Provided counseling surrounding the topics of domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, poverty, and various phobias. Schizophrenia, Manic Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and others were addressed. Maintained excellent communication with all parties including the individuals served, their families, medical experts, and others. Provided assistance to children on an individual and group level.
